Pepper (PAS) “Collaborative Improvisation” (2011) Recording: Photo: Stan Ries Performers: John Driscoll, Phil Edelstein, Tom Hamilton  CIE was formed in the mid 1970’s to collaborate with David Tudor on his Rainforest IV project, and to create and perform collaborative electronic works. Over the years, these works have involved: unique sound generation techniques (neural networks, feedback circuits, digital synthesis, circuit bending, etc) along with interlocked performance networks, focused loudspeaker research, robotic rotating loudspeakers, ultrasonic instruments, and resonant objects. Works by CIE have been presented at a number of venues including: the Kitchen, Festival d’Automne, the Holland Festival, Ars Electronica, Media Study Buffalo, the Center for Music Experiment (UCSD), Marymount Manhattan College and other venues.
