Neural Synthesis 1-9 (1992-1994) is a composition utilizing a unique analog neural network simulator by Intel. David was assisted in the design and implementation by Forrest Warthman, Mark Holler, and Scot Gresham-Lancaster. The system was also used in a composition for Merce Cunningham Dance Company titled Neural Network Plus (1992) performed extensively by Takehisa Kosugi and David Tudor, and after David was taken ill, by Kosugi and John D.S. Adams.
John D.S. Adams performed Neural Synthesis after David’s death.
