PEPSIBIRD was composed for the Pepsi Pavilion and made extensive use of a sound processor designed by Gordon Mumma to transform a library of recordings of neural activity sounds together with processed recordings of similar sources.  It utilized recordings of:

  1. • Cat’s eye

  2. • Nerve firing

  3. • Bats

  4. • Brainwaves (slow / regular)

  5. • EKG

  6. • Alpha wave AM-FM

  7. • Modified nightjar (slow)

  8. • Modified nightjar (regular)

  9. • Demodulated Alpha waves
