ROTATING SPEAKERS
ROTATING SPEAKERS
A number of works were created using a set of four rotating robotic loudspeaker instruments including Stall, Second Mesa, “A Hall is All” (see audio excerpt below), and “Lums Pond” with Douglas Dunn & Dancers.
The motion control for these speakers was either manual (for performance), or was controlled by a small CMOS digital control circuit.
These speakers were designed to allow the sound to be dispersed physically vs. panning of sound through static speakers.
The speakers consist of four different devices:
1.Large double horn
2.Dual axis rotation (single horn)
3.Small double horn
4.Small single horn
