eba (eba-arts.org) started as Electronic Body Arts formed by and with choreographer Maude Baum and George Kindler, Caroline Meyers, Phil Edelstein, Marcia Kindler, Dennis Ficken, Billy Parker and others around 1972. Several other musicians from Joel Chadabe’s electrronic music program including Richard Lainhart and Richard Kelly also soon joined along with dancers Ann Fossner and Heather Harris. eba’s first space until 1977 was a loft in Central Ave in downtown Albany. eba moved to the Chapter House on Lark St and was active there until 2017. Baum, Edelstein, Driscoll, Marianne Schultz and Dahlia Herring and others have been involved starting early 2020 on formulating an exhibition and archival project.

From 1973-77, there were several close collaborations between what became CIE and eba. Other key people in the early years included Tom Dewitt, Viebeke Sorensen, David Gibson, Susan Masokowski and others.
